Hickstead has a reputation as the home of British showjumping, but this new departure saw thousands of music fans visit the famous showground in West Sussex as they enjoyed the superb facilities on offer.

Not only did Hickstead’s International Arena provide a unique venue to witness performances from some of the world’s best-selling artists, but the two-day music event also included gourmet pop up restaurants, street food stalls and alternative entertainment.

Headlining Saturday, legendary live act, SIMPLE MINDS, brought their famed show to Sussex to perform a mix of greatest hits and songs from across their illustrious career, including tracks from their latest album ‘Big Music’. As their only outdoor performance in the UK in summer, Boomerang offered fans and music lovers alike the chance to catch this prolific band on the open stage. Also on the bill were, Scottish twin brothers, The Proclaimers, British country duo, The Shires; rising star, Andreya Triana and local artists Common Tongues and The Dubarrys.

Making her grand entrance on Sunday was British singer songwriter Jessie J, best known for a style that mixes soul vocals with R&B, pop and hip hop beats; Jessie performed songs from her three albums including favourites: Price Tag, Do It Like A Dude, and, most recently, her collaboration with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj on her top ten hit Bang Bang.

Joining Jessie J as Sunday’s headliner was super group, The Vamps. This talented pop band cause a stir everywhere they go, with legions of fans following and pandemonium at every turn; the UK four piece have become one of the heaviest bleeps on the chart radar and we couldn’t wait to welcome them to Sussex. Supporting these pop heavy weights were North London music icons, Soul II Soul, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Rae Morris and Cornish born, Nathan Ball.
